I first came to Catalina over 30 years ago to work a summer job, in which I rented snorkel gear at Lover's Cove, a Marine Protected Area, only a five minute walk from Avalon.

I fell in love with the island and the small town community. I eventually became a certified Dive Master. For over 10 years I worked as kayak and snorkel instructor educating people on the history of Catalina and our unique habitats.

Jump ahead another 20 years and I am now a local elementary teacher and I have raised two kids here. Lover's Cove Marine Preserve has always had a special place in my heart. I am still an AVID snorkeler and have spent 100s of hours snorkeling here over the years.

I want to share this love for Avalon and it's underwater world. I have over 20 years experience working with children and a wealth of knowledge about our kelp forest ecosystems. I am very excited to share this special place with the next generation of young adventurers.
